Your TFSA room, up to $109,000.
One question: what is my TFSA contribution room in 2026? Your birth year sets the ceiling; what you put in and took out sets the number.
What this number assumes
Room starts in the first year you were 18 or older, and no earlier than 2009, the year the TFSA began. It accumulates for every year you were a Canadian resident with a social insurance number, whether or not you opened an account. The CRA's worksheet for your own room is on canada.ca.
Why the estimate can still miss your real number
Years you were a non-resident of Canada add no room, and this calculator does not subtract them. A withdrawal you made this year is not back yet; it returns next January 1. And the figure is only as good as the totals you typed, which is why the durable answer is a dated record of every deposit and withdrawal, not a one-time estimate.
If the result is negative, that is an excess
A negative number means you have contributed past your ceiling, and the CRA charges 1% of the highest excess amount for each month it stays in the account. The penalty calculator below prices it.
